Privileging the glimmers

Imagine we’re on a journey together, and along the way, we encounter both dark spots and bright spots. In therapy, our approach is like shining a light on those bright spots, those little glimmers of hope and strength, while also acknowledging and working through the tough spots, the triggers that can bring up difficult feelings.

Privileging the glimmers means paying special attention to the moments when you feel even the tiniest bit better or when you notice something positive happening, no matter how small it may seem. These glimmers are like little sparks of hope that show us that change is possible and that you have the strength to overcome challenges.

At the same time, we also recognize that there are triggers, things that may bring up painful memories or emotions. Instead of avoiding these triggers, we face them together in therapy. By understanding and exploring your triggers, we can learn how they affect you and find ways to cope with them in healthier ways.

So, in our therapy sessions, we’ll celebrate the glimmers of hope and progress, no matter how small, while also addressing and working through the triggers that may be holding you back. It’s about finding balance and moving forward, one step at a time, on your journey toward healing and growth.
